Catholic Women

Our women's group meets on alternate Tuesdays during term time. Each meeting begins with Mass at seven in the church and is followed by a gathering in the community centre at about 7:30pm. We are affiliated to the Union of Catholic mothers (UCM  - https://www.theucm.co.uk/). However, membership is by no means limited to mothers and the group is open to all women. Visitors are always made welcome, even men, when we have a speaker or event of particular interest.  We have a program that combines spiritual and social events and some fundraising to support charities and our own pilgrimages.

We also participate in events organised by the National Board of Catholic women (NBCW.co.uk)

Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, 9 April and will be a discussion and demonstration of the capabilities of the air fryer. There may be samples!

On Saturday 13 April at 11 am – 12:30  there is a zoom webinar on 'Praying with icons’ To western eyes, icons may seem quite strange, too formal and abstract to be a way into prayer.
This talk will explore the history of this special way of seeing, and offer some reflections on icons and their significance
