Sacramental Preparation

If you wish to have your child Baptised you would be expected to attend church on a regular basis first and then attend a Baptism course. This consists of four one hour sessions run approximately four times a year.

Please see Fr Bill for further details and to receive a Baptismal Enquiry Form.

First Holy Communion
Our First Holy Communion Preparation Course is done in our parish from October. It consists of a series of regular meetings for parents and children running until the following June. These meetings usually take place after Sunday Mass during term time. There are also a series of Sunday Masses during which they will be involved

Those new to the sacrament are prepared as part of the First Holy Communion Course.

Confessions are held on a Saturday morning at 10.30am and in the evening, 5.00pm till 5.45pm.

These take place on a yearly basis, depending on numbers wishing to be Confirmed. Preparation is done in the parish or in conjunction with another parish and consists of eight meetings. Please see Fr Bill for more information and a Confirmation Enquiry Form.

Anyone wishing to get married at St Aelred’s please see Fr Bill for an appointment.

This is the process by which new members are welcomed into the Catholic Church. It is a rolling series of meetings, usually fortnightly, where we meet to learn about the Catholic faith. At the appropriate time, agreed by Fr Bill and the candidate, enquirers may express a wish to be Baptised or welcomed into the Church, which usually takes place at Easter.

This is also an opportunity for Catholics to learn a little more about their faith.
